ProStor Systems Unveils New InfiniVault Archive Appliance
And Wraps Up Week of New Product and Partner Announcements
BOULDER, Colo. – Oct. 15, 2007 – ProStor Systems, a leading developer of removable
disk storage solutions, today unveiled its new InfiniVault™ archive appliance for the first
time at Storage Networking World at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Dallas. The company
also announced a strategic relationship with Microsoft and a software partnership with
Quest, a leader in e-mail archiving.
Over the past week, ProStor Systems made several key announcements including
the introduction of the world's first removable disk archive system for small and medium
enterprises; third-party test results that demonstrate that RDX® removable disk
technology has an archive life of at least 30 years; the company's new ProAlliance™
Partner Program for qualified resellers; full software compatibility support from leading
ISVs; and a new strategic relationship with Microsoft.
The new InfiniVault archive appliance integrates ProStor's Archive and
Compliance Engine (ACE) with three tiers of storage (online, nearline and offline)
providing small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) with an archiving solution that
delivers a fast, secure and reliable archival storage platform for long-term data
preservation, regulatory compliance, and e-discovery in a single system. By leveraging
RDX removable disk technology, ProStor has created an easy-to-deploy archiving
solution that combines the performance and rapid retrieval of fixed-disk archive solutions
with the unlimited capacity, scalability and disaster recovery protection of removable
disk media, in an all-in-one design that is far more reliable than tape and much lower cost
than fixed-disk archive systems.
"Our research shows that SMEs have the same archive and compliance
requirements as large enterprises, but don't have the budgets to afford enterprise
solutions or the resources to manage complex solutions," said Steve Georgis, CEO and
president of ProStor Systems. "The InfiniVault archive appliance provides those
enterprises with the same level of data preservation and compliance without the
complexity and high price tag."
The entire InfiniVault archive appliance product suite is sold through a network of
high-value resellers in North American, and will be generally available in the first quarter
of 2008. The InfiniVault is being shown in Booth # C-7 at SNW from Oct. 15-18.
