IMATION'S LATEST STORAGE SYSTEM FURTHER EXPANDS REACH OF RDX
Removable hard disk solution gains momentum among SMBs as alternative to tape

BOULDER, Colo. (April 16, 2007 ) — ProStor Systems, a leading developer of removable disk storage solutions, today announced that it has significantly increased the market penetration of its RDX® disk storage technology with the general availability of Imation Corp. (NYSE: IMN)-branded RDX removable hard disk solutions that provide small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) with a superior data protection alternative to tape-based backup storage products. Imation, a worldwide leader in removable data storage media, became a licensee of RDX technology in October 2006. With this release, Imation becomes the third major OEM to bring RDX hard disk drive technology to market.

"Imation's entry into the RDX removable disk market marks another milestone for ProStor Systems and its removable disk technology," said Heidi Biggar of analyst firm Enterprise Strategy Group. "By partnering with major OEM vendors, such as Imation, ProStor gains access to established distribution channels for its drives and media, and in doing so, positions itself to be the next evolution of removable storage technology."

Designed with enterprise-class features, RDX systems back up more than 125 GB of data per hour, access files instantly and archive data safely for more than a decade. The RDX storage solution is 10 times faster and more reliable than any tape storage product used in the past by SMBs.

"The RDX system is a robust removable hard disk solution that provides easy-to-use and reliable data protection," said James Milligan, general manager, Commercial/OEM Division, Imation. "We are pleased to offer the Imation RDX Removable Hard Disk Storage System, a comprehensive solution ideally suited to meet the growing server storage requirements of small-and medium-sized businesses."

RDX technology provides forward and backward compatibility, which allows users to upgrade to higher-capacity cartridges in the future without the need to purchase a new drive and without making previous media obsolete. Additionally, RDX drives have been certified with most popular backup software and its drag-and-drop functionality makes for simplified use.

"As leaders in the removable data storage market, we are pleased that Imation has taken a dedicated interest in being at the forefront of the RDX revolution," said Steve Georgis, President and CEO of ProStor Systems. "Their decision to manufacture, market and sell RDX to their established base of SMB customers is a win-win situation for our two companies as well as for those users looking for easy-to-use, reliable and cost-effective portable storage."
