Chris Alaimo

Chris Alaimo, vice president of engineering for ProStor Systems, joined the company in November of 2004. He is responsible for the engineering and product development of the company’s family of RDX® products and systems. Mr. Alaimo’s career includes 16 years of product development and software engineering for the data storage and telecom equipment industries.

Before joining ProStor Systems, Mr. Alaimo was the firmware manager at Quantum, where he directed a team of 14 firmware engineers to develop a nextgeneration SDLT tape storage drive that incorporated SCSI, Fibre Channel and
SAS interfaces. Prior to that, he worked as an engineering project manager for Network Photonics developing the control systems for the company’s wavelength switching and equalization products.

As a software manager for Carrier Access, Mr. Alaimo led teams of engineers to develop product specifications, core hardware and software strategies and overall product direction. Previous to Carrier Access, Mr. Alaimo worked for five years at Exabyte Corp. developing software and hardware for tape drives.

Mr. Alaimo received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan and has been awarded five patents, with three more pending.
